If white privilege existed wouldnt it cancel out in this situation? You guys keep mentioning that blacks have a higher incarceration rate than whites, and im not denying that they do but the reason they have a higher incarceration rate isnt because they are black. Its because they dont have the money to afford a world class lawyer or to bribe the judge, prosecutor, or jury.

Let me ask you this, how many black professional athletes or black celebrities have been accused of rape and other crimes over the years? The answer is alot. Now how many of them have been sent to prison? The answer is none to very little. Why is that? Is it because of black privilege? No, its simply because they have a shit ton of money to afford very very good lawyers, and money to bribe everyone involved. The justice system doesnt give two shits about race, there are tons of black prosectutors, cops, judges, politicians ect. The only thing that matters is money. If youve got money you can get away with anything, if you dont have money, which most minorities dont, then you get stuck with a shitty attorney which means you go to jail.

I agree with most of this. But being poor regardless of race, or should I say coming from a lower income family that can't afford a good legal team, would get a harsher sentence regardless of race. Money does buy just about anything, I'm very confident in saying that.

What people don't realize is what a vicious cycle this whole thing is.

If you have a felony on your record, it's next to impossible to get a living wage job. So, when blacks, latinos and even poor whites get disproportionately tagged for minor offences, especially with the WOD, it causes them to be unemployable and this of course perpetuates their poverty and inability to move up in society.

We have created entire generations of people who have needless criminal records and they cannot become contributing members of society even if they want to.
