Remember them words when you start your cream puff diet 15 years from now. ;)
Every single hardcore pro bodybuilder was thinking the exact same way like you do in their prime.
Then they got old and retired.

and you don't want to be exceptional for your age? you'd rather be average? its a choice brother. i'm not saying you have to have the "whatever it takes attitude" but its absolutely a choice to look exceptional or average. I do not believe for one second that I will ever stop caring how my body looks in the mirror.

Yeah I bet you choose to pass out in Costco and split your head open like a fucking watermelon. Lol
Why aren't you in the gym right now? Why aren't you saying pain is the weakness that is leaving my body? Since it's a choice why aren't you choosing to be in the gym right now and train balls to the walls?

As you experienced last week that life can change in a blink of an eye and you are just a passenger without any control.

No one ever stops caring about how they look (ok maybe some fat bastards do) it's just life that gets in the way of best laid plans.
All I'm saying next time before you start talking smack about people think about what they might've gone through to get there.

I'm just glad to see you doing well. :)
Now go train that beta twink body of yours. Fucking thing can't even handle a workout and walk around Costco. Lol.

            • I now haven't been to the gym in 10 days anf it looks like its going to be another 10 days before I can go back. Shoulders still aching from the fall. Slowly recovering but just a tiny bit at a time. Doc doesn't want me doing much until my appointment on the 13th not even cardio.

Gotta admit I'm having a hard time with it. I wish I could have the same attitude Mr.I had during his recovery but I find it really hard not to be depressed and down in the dumps. Fighting to stay positive but it sure is a struggle. Could always be much worse I know. 3 weeks off from the gym is not the end of the world. Will probably do me a lot of good considering how dehydrated and over trained i was.

                • Just a slight setback B. I was out for 3 months and even now training with very light weight. Your attitude is everything. You can feel sorry for yourself or look at it with a positive attitude.

Might be a good time to get involved in a new hobby, job, some other interest.

How is the 401k coming along. Where do you see yourself in 5, 10, 20 years? Being the biggest in the room is a great goal, but unless it is paying the bills, it won't help you out much at 70.

                    • You need to find a hobby to immerse yourself in to take your mind off the gym.

                        • problem is guys until my appointment on the 13th the doctor doesn't wan't me doing ANYTHING physical. my CT levels indicated a massive amount of overstraining to the point that my CNS was so over stimulated that he was surprised it took this long for me to show signs of exhaustion and fatigue. CT levels as high as mine are usually only seen in people after extreme activity. the tour de france riders for example after a week of riding will display the same levels of CT levels. look it up, its the best identifier of extreme over training.

add to the fact that the doc has me on hydrocodone every 4 hours for the pain caused by the shoulder sprain when I fell. anyone that has used hydrocodone will know just how foggy and off balance it makes you feel. without it i can not sleep longer than 1 hour due to pain and being uncomfortable.

In other words, "Taking up another hobby" sounds like a great idea from afar but at least until the 13th the doc wants me doing nothing at all but recovering. the whole reason all this happened was due to the fact that I was living on 4 hours of sleep a night, dehydration, extreme physical stress where steroids allowed me to push my body and mind much furthur that I would have been able to naturally.

turbo, your post isn't wrong but IMO it's the type of post that was made to get "likes" and to jab ole bouncer a little bit. the most important thing in the short term is to recover and not repeat the mistakes that got me here in the first place. instead of giving me support and offering helpful suggestions on how to deal with not being able to do anything for the time being it feels a bit like a kick while I'm down type deal. and of course the passive agressives will always give that sort of thing a "like".

Not a jab at all. Maybe a kick in the ass. Just my personal opinion. I see what kind of life people live that are 65+ and relying on social security to live, it ain't pretty at all. It would be different if bodybuilding were your job, but to my knowledge it isn't. Maybe pursue that avenue if you want. I'm sure many companies would hire you and take pictures, the possibilities are endless.

I wouldn't post if I didn't care. I genuinely care about your well being. I wasn't trying to be passive aggressive or gather the passive aggressive troops. You seem to be pretty smart, determined, and disciplined. I was just trying to give suggestions to get your mind of the gym.

Maybe go volunteer at a long term care facility. Play some games with some oldies and the impact you have on their day will most likely be as satisfying as a great workout.

I was trying to think of non physical activities/hobbies.
