Is anyone else finding the 2 on 2 beach volleyball matches exciting as fuck? I don't remember paying so much attention to it the last few Olympic but I'm loving that shit.

I feel like there is to many people on the court for the team volleyball stuff but 2 on 2 is good shit.

Sarah Robles Becomes First U.S. Weightlifter To Medal In 16 Years

These are not a United States of weightlifting. No woman had medaled in the event since 2000, and no male weightlifter has found the podium since 1984. So when Sarah Robles took bronze today with a combined lift of 286kg, it was a cause to celebrate.

              1 million-gallon Olympic pool drained - CNN.com

So what caused the green water in the first place?

Nascimento says hydrogen peroxide may be to blame for the green coloring.

"On the day of the Opening Ceremonies of the Games, 80 liters of hydrogen peroxide was put in the water," he said. "This creates a reaction to the chlorine which neutralizes the ability of the chlorine to kill organics. This is not a problem for the health of anyone."

Even if it's not a health problem, Andrada said the incident an embarrassment for the organizers.

"We are hosting the Olympic Games," he said. "The world is here, the best athletes are here, so the water comes to be an issue."

Just a picture of health. Can really tell these weight lifters have spent many years training...

Kinda goes with the the argument that heavy weight isn't always needed to build muscle. Hell the sprinters and gymnasts appear to have far more actual muscle mass compared to these "Olympic lifters"..

That was crazy. Fastest 15-16 yo American would win bronze in 1980. Wow. And fastest 8yo was 13.46 seconds! Nuts.
