Well I saw the head of neurology at one of London's pretty eminent hospitals today and his view was that the back appears recovered and as good as the average 40 year old's.

The foot paralysis has recovery has some way to further improve but the improvements I have made mean that given I can walk with relative comfort without aid, it is beyond anything that they would consider any further surgery on.

He also stated that the tests confirmed that they nerve the other guy had said he though was dead,,was indeed still alive and that my idea of walking without the brace was the right thing to do now and will hopefully see further improvements in my footime with time.

Awesome bro. Goes to show how much is still unknown when it comes to the body. "Experts" say nerve is dead turns out it's still alive.

Blows my mind. We land on the moon in 69 but in 2017 we still don't have the technology to fully understand the human body.

Keep getting better you old turd.

Mr I, how much did the surgery cost you out of pocket? I'd like to compare it to what back surgery would cost in the good ole USA.

It cost nothing, I don't have health/medical insurance and it doesn't matter. Our hospitals treat you at no cost.

That being said, in addition to income tax, we pay national insurance as it's called. It's a small compulsory amount that is taken from your wages and is supposedly ring fenced to go to NHS National Health Service.

The NHS was created after WWII by the prime minister and is undoubtedly one of the best things we very did. Free health care for funded by tax payers.

It's not perfect and private health can see you get quicker operations at times but generally speaking it is a fantastic social welfare aspect that founders a caring civilised society and I am very proud of it.

Unfortunately the modern government appear beset on running it into the ground so they can turn to people and say " look, the NHS isn't working but hey, we have an idea, we've negotiated great rates for all with this private health insurance provider" thus offloading the cost entirely on the individual.

Dennis had a similar problem (compressed nerve) albeit his was further up the spine at his neck and so affected nerve supply to the arms https://youtu.be/5gLsIRJsaRA

It's weird, you think little of something until it happens to you then you feel unique with it. Then over time you work out your not the only one. Turns out Flex Wheeler has exactly the same issue as me but unfortunately for him he still has back pain too. He trains around it.

Believe it or not flex wheeler is actually exchanging messages with me about it.
