I'm glad you are still blown away by california. It seems odd that you'd not been there before given that you live in America.
Nice guy but not well travelledone so not much to compare with
i had been here before. visiting some place and living in a place are 2 very different things.
as a matter of fact I've been to most states in the US at some point.
have you been to every country in Europe? because that's the comparison. states of the US vs countries of Europe in terms of size and scale. the distance from New Jersey to California is the same distance as London to Iraq. That's the scale we are talking about. You live on a baby island where it takes at max 3-4 hours to drive anywhere. to drive from the southern border of California to the northern border of California takes 8 hours. that's 1 state.
I've lived coast to coast. You live about 15 minutes from the place of your birth and you haven't lived any place else. Have you even moved out of your home town? You think you're "well traveled" because you've visited a place for a few days. Let me tell you from experience, you learn very little about a place over the course of a few days. Go live some place and you will have a completely different understanding.
I'm a seasons kind of guy. Yea, the cold sucks but I can't picture a winter without snow or cold weather. How could I enjoy a hot cup of cocoa or a warm chicken soup when it's 70 degrees everyday. It's just not the same.

It gets into the 40-50's when the sun goes down in the winter. that's cold enough to enjoy warm food and drinks!

Nah bro, that's not cold at all. A 40-50 degree winter in Jersey is a joke, that's not cold, at least not for me. I could work in a light sweater and T-Shirt underneath with that kind of weather.
Cold is when it drops under 30s and 20s, now that's cold. Windshield is below zero kind of cold. Thats the kind of cold that makes your hands and face go numb.
You learn to appreciate the warm weather more when you go through those really cold winters. This winter, we only had a few of those days, for the most part it's been in the 40's which isn't the norm.

Brother trust me I know what cold is. I'm from Jersey and I lived in Chicago for 3 years. In Chicago Jersey winters are a joke.
2 Chicago winters in a row got as low as -16 real temp with a -33 wind chill. The type of cold that shatters your bones. Chicago turned me into a cold hater.

Yes, so you know very well what real cold weather is especially if you lived in Chicago but you could also understand why I would roll my eyes at someone from California who said 40-50 degrees is cold.
Now I understand why you appreciate the weather over there so much. Good for you bro.
I've been to Norcal a few times to visit my bro and it's really nice. Took me to Santa Cruz, Capitola, San Fran, San Jose. It's cool, nice place to live if you have the money. Want to see SD next.

I was just saying you can enjoy a warm meal when it's 45 degrees out. Your certainly not sweating in that temp.
