Lol. Most smith machines I have been around have bumpers you can place to stop the bar. Im betting that one does as well but the guy didnt use them. Anyway, dude is a retard for doing squats on a smith machine. IMO they are useless and only cause hinderences to gains.

^well both of you know not of what you speak so would have been equally as fucked as the person you just mocked.
That is not a smith that is a Scott smith, totally different machine and see how the vertical slide rail moves forwards after, that is to allow for the free movement "exaxtky to accommodate squatting" whereas a regular smith machine fixe's your position making that body's natural squat movement not possible.
I really feel for that young guy and hope he is OK, having had a back injury I know that could affect him for life nowLast edited by Mr I; 04-28-17, 12:56 PM.

Obviously, he was recording himself. And I looked into similar Scott Smith machines and they have bars that go from one side to the other to catch the bar, if you set it up. He did not set it up.
Dont get me wrong, I hope he isn't hurt, but I go bact to my earlier statement, the dude is a retard.

It's great for heavy lunges and squats as you can't fall sidewaysOriginally posted by AvidFisherman View PostThen why even have a Scott Smith machine. Why not just do free weights? Honest question.
Anyway if he used a cage or a squat station he could have set it up so the cage catches the bar if he lost control.

Just like you do with the free bar. There is no difference.
You must be one of those gym noobs that thinks the free squat bar comes with some kind of special leg building magic. Lol.:rofl::rofl:
