I didn't realize week 1 started today. Summer flew by. Gonna try to go see a 49ers game this season. Should be cheap cause they suck. Never been to that stadium.

You don't stand, you shouldn't play. Pretty simple. If you don't respect our country and those that have given the ultimate sacrifice, then go live in another country. Plenty of them out there to choose from!

I have been to a Bears game. I hate the upgrade they made to that stadium. Looks like half an alien ship mixed in with an ancient greek Parthenon. Just odd.

At least the bears got rid of cutler.

Thing is scrum, they don't really believe in what they are doing, not seriously. Why don't they make a bigger statement? Why don't they refuse to play? Why don't they choose to leave this horrible country?

In no other country could these guys make the money they are making. In no other country would these guys with the IQ of a parakeet be given such opportunity.

If they were serious and they wanted to send a real message they would make a real statement. Kneeling means nothing, anyone can do that. Fact is, they will gladly accept a multi million dollar salary from the evil NFL in this evil nation.

Most of them are sheep. They are simply following other players because its "the thing to do" and there is peer pressure from the other players. Please don't act like these guys are heroes dedicated to the cause. You act like they are protesters in the ukrain or egypt putting their life on the line. lol. These guys are all about image. Nothing more.

He's not anti America. He loves America. He talks all the time about how much he loves the American West. He even has an avatar showing his love for where he lives. He loves his country, he doesn't necessarily love his government. Very big difference bro. I may not agree with all of his views but it's pretty clear to me that he is not anti American.

It's actually a very strong American trait. The origins of this country as we know it was built by people who loved their country but did not like their government. Today we call them patriots.

Chadd, I am curious as to why you think I am anti-American. Isn't a free expression of one's opinions, especially those that highlight uncomfortable realities of our society, one of the most American things to do?

Just to add, I am an American and I love my country. But my love for my country means that I appreciate all the good that it does in the world, its generosity, its acceptance of the world's disadvantaged, its contribution to science and culture in the world, and so on.

But at the same time, my love for my country means that I am always looking for ways by which it can be better. And sadly, my country falls short of being the ideal it could be in several ways, and I will ALWAYS strive to fix these problems. You can't fix them if you don't acknowledge them though.

I'll also add that as Bouncer suggests, what our government does in our name is absolutely criminal. It betrays all the ideals that our country stands for. Since the end of WWII, we have been a force for strife and discord around the world as much or more than a force for good. And it doesn't have to be that way.

Funny how if someone disagrees with a view point they are considered expressing their freedoms., But if someone disagrees with that view...they are considered wrong....although it's what our country was founded on. If something is wrong with being proud to be an American and showing a little pride in your country then in my freedom of speech...who ever does that is a fucked up non American. It's not about government being right it's about the people of the country
