  • Bose Soundbar

So I always shit on Bose in the past because they are overpriced.

I always had a nice home theater system but I got rid of all that shit when we moved to Cali. Just been using the speakers on the TV since we've been here. As you guys know TV's are so thin these days the speakers on them are absolute shit.

Costco had a Bose soundbar on sale so I decide to grab it. Never had a soundbar before, always had traditional speakers.

Anyway, I'm blown away by the sound quality of this thing. I'm not sure if soundbars have always been this good or if they have improved over the years but this thing sounds damn good. Crisp clear dialogue that doesn't distort even when the volume is jacked way up. What's more surprising is the bass that comes out of this thing. It fills the room with deep powerful sounding bass during explosions and action scenes.

Maybe I'm just used to the shitty tv speakers on a flat panel tv but this Bose soundbar has really surprised me.

Soundbars have maade some great strides over the past few years. Anything is usually better than the tv speakers. It is time for me to buy a new soundbar.

I have a Bose mini bluetooth speaker and it's incredible how good it sounds. We use it for TV via Bluetooth connection. I'm a big fan of Bose.

yea i knew it was going to be better than tv speakers. what i wasn't expecting was a 10lb little soundbar to fill my living room with loud powerful and clear audio. i used to have polk tower speakers and an outlaw sub. (anyone that knows audio knows they are very good). now that system could blow my house down when i turned it up super loud. but here is the thing. when you watch movies you don't turn it up to insane levels. at normal movie theater listening levels, this soundbar can match the quality of the polks and the outlaw. thats impressive.

Does the soundbar do all the channels or just the center channel?

There is multiple speakers in it including a built in sub. Dialogue comes from the 2 center speakers and sound effects come from the other speakers.

So, even though they are all sorta clustered together, you get good projection of the different channels, right vs left, for example?

Yea and trust me I was skeptical as hell. I used to have the whole setup and was a member of avs forum who snub their nose at anything other than movie theater level shit. I always liked the looks of a soundbar but figured it would sound like a pile of shit compared to a proper home theater. I never even gave it a thought. Maybe the first soundbars were crap but like turbo suggested maybe they have mastered the tech as they have been out for years now.

It sounds good enough. It goes well with all of my Samsung products.

It's a good sound bar, no need to have a fucking concert In My living room

Bose is usually expensive but I have always liked the quality of the sound that they produce.

I was skeptical but impressed with some sound bars as well. After a bunch of research I got a LG model SH5B a couple years ago. 320watt system with wireless subwoofer, Bluetooth and all the good connection ports and it was a good price at the time. Thing will rumble the house. I also love how my normal tv remote and cable remote will change the volume without having to use the sound bar remote. Kept me from spending thousands on a receiver that would be outdated in 5 years anyway.

Yea I don't need to use the remote that comes with the bar at all. I have my computer and PS4 connected to my tv via HDMI. Then from my tv to the sound bar a single optical cable. So in effect my tv acts like a receiver. It passes the sound from my computer and PS4 through to the sound bar.
