Scrum read my replies throughout this thread. I never said any such thing about building a wall. The only thing I did mention is that if he were an American citizen I do believe the punishment would be more severe.

At the end of the day regardless of whether he is a citizen or not, he should have to pay for committing multiple crimes that day due to poor judgement.

His punishment as an illegal is simply to be deported? What would mine be? Can you honestly say I'd get off just the same?

There is no evidence for the claim you are making, that the punishment would be more severe if he was a US citizen or lawful resident. In fact, I believe the article said that his immigration status never figured in the case at all. I think you are just buying into the trope that illegals get away murder, literally in this case.

Should he have received a stricter punishment, perhaps manslaughter? It does seem strange as to why he didn't get at least involuntary manslaughter. I would be interested in knowing the details on this although the articles I have read do not contain any legal analysis on why the jury didn't find a manslaughter conviction appropriate.

You may not have said it, but both this thread and in the public in general, there is this idea that her death means we need to build the wall, or if the wall was there, she would still be alive. That's just illogical.

So you believe I could go to the pier right now fire off a gun in public, kill someone and get sent back home as my punishment? THAT is illogical.

            I NEVER SAID THAT!

Stop assigning things to me that I never said. I keep saying that I don't understand why he didn't at least get manslaughter and you keep suggesting that I said he deserves to get a ticket home. I didn't say anything of that sort.

You said there is no evidence that his punishment would have been more severe if he was a citizen. I'm asking if you believe I would have gotten that exact punishment if it were me in that situation.

Yes. That's what I said. I don't see why you would have had any different treatment. Do you see any evidence that the jury was biased in favor of the guy BECAUSE HE WAS AN ILLEGAL ALIEN? I didn't see that.

I do know that the jury was not told he was a 7 time felon. I understand they don't want people having any bias for or against someone BUT knowing this was a 7 time felon kind of changes things IMO. Makes his whole story a little less believable. This goes back to my argument of the law vs what's right.

Rip, you know nothing about California. You are just using a case where a jury followed the rules and did what they were supposed to do to take a shot at California because the news networks you watch brainwashed you to do so. The decision of the jury had nothing to do with sanctuary cities or peace, love, and fags. You're really fucking ignorant sometimes.

I just want to say and I am sure you all agree, I love my daughter with all my heart, my family. If anyone takes one of their lives I will hunt them down and make them wish they were dead before I ever ended their sorry lives. It would be hell to be skinned like a catfish and have salt and vinegar splashed all over him, then wake him up after he passes out and do it again!!!!! I can't imagine losing one of my kids like that.

If it was one of us we would be on death row or worse, life. I have been a corrections officer, not a good place to live the rest of your life....and I would never take that job again......
