Not sure what they are supposed to do. Again, the GOP is the ruling party. Ryan and McConnell control what is voted on. There is NOTHING the Dems can do by themselves. If the GOP put forward something the Dems can work with, like the propsal that Trump didn't like, they can do that. But for whatever reason, McConnell does not want to.

Agree there. Mexicans will be under or over that fucker in 5 minutes. Or they will cross natural barriers like rivers and mountains, big money involved in getting people across the border. Wall won't stop any of the big money aka cartel types from getting in.

Just like anything else, if you want to get rid of the illegal black market, the simple solution is to make it legal and tax it.

Create a temporary worker visa and charge a couple grand for it and you'll put the human smugglers out of business and provide labor for agriculture, construction etc., not to mention millions of dollars to pay for enforcement, etc.

Democrats are not the majority party. It us up to the Republicans who control the House, Senate and the White House to put forward a bill that is reasonable that can get enough Dem votes to pass. That's how it works. Problem is, GOP cannot put forward anything reasonable.

Well, actually there was a compromise proposal that Lindsey Graham and a Dem senator (can't remember his name) took to Trump last week. It was a compromise proposal but Trump shot it down.
