I do agree that if you choose to carry a weapon you should be trained on how to use it. Something like a pistol is a lot more complex than a knife. With a pistol you need to understand how to load, unload, safety on, safety off, rack, proper hand and finger technique, ect... A knife is very basic. I would think that almost everyone would have an understanding of how to use it for protection. It's a matter of that person being comfortable with it. If you try to force it upon a person to use for their safety obviously this would not be recommended.

My girl is a girly girl. But that doesn't mean she's better off in a bad situation with absolutely no way to defend herself. She at least has a chance armed with pepper spray and a knife. A better chance at least then nothing at all.Originally posted by rado View PostShe is also well trained...thanks for agreeing with me

But I also know your girl being a girly girl, her last resort would be to think for the knife.
Just walk around like her "bouncer"....pussy

Let me try and explain my way of thinking in a different way.
My girl has zero experience putting out a house fire. She's never used a fire extinguisher in her life. But does that mean we should say "since you have no training in this field, you should not own a fire extinguisher"?
See my basic point?
In some ways a fire extinguisher is more complex then a knife. There are multiple steps and a fire is high stress. A knife on the other hand is very primal. Stabbing objects of some kind have been used by humans for hundreds of thousands of years in self defense. I'm not saying she'd be the best knife fighter on the planet but she could at least do some basic slash and stab movements and have a better chance.

But Bouncer, I actually have a co-worker trained in Filipino Knife Fighting, I think it's called Kali or something like that? I've had discussions with him about it and he always talked about Spyderco knives. Not sure if those a legal here in Cali tho.
There is no point in giving your girl a fucking Knife if she isn't also trained in how to use it. Same thing goes for guns, as you know.

Dude you're fucking paranoid. What type of drugs did you get on when you moved to Sacramento? Fucking New Jersey is way more dangerous than Sacramento and you never talked about this type of shit when you lived in Jersey.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostNot sure what kind of world you think we live in but people are attacked all the time. Car jackings, murder, rape etc.. happen every day. That's not paranoia that's fact.
Just admit, you joined some conspiracy message board/community and they've brainwashed you.

You side on the conspiracy side of every single topic now and think the world is some dark, scary place. You've changed, big time. Admit it.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostYes keiser me and scrum both joined the Syrian conspiracy forum.
You Trumper you.
Let me give you some life advice:
If you really go through your day thinking the world is a dark, scary place and are constantly looking over your shoulder for bad shit to happen, then this is a recipe for dissatisfaction and depression. This is a fact.
Optimism and seeing the best in people and in every situation is the key to happiness. You are going to die anyway. Enjoy life, stop being paranoid. DO NOT go down this path.
