Lip we were chasing spanish a couple of months ago about 30km out. It's been a very quiet season for them. Unfortunately all we got were Mack tuna and a shark. A friend of mine goes out every weekend but has only landed a couple this season.
Yeah y'allsMack tuna are basically the same as our Kings if I'm thinking right. We were 21 miles out. I used to run charters years ago .boatless right now so I ride on buddies boats when i can get a seat.love offshore fishing. I'm gonna take the GoPro next trip try n get some video

Yeh the macks are rubbish. We are gonna chase some big snapper in a few weeks. Go-pro is a great idea.

I just looked up mack tuna for austrailia..those are what we call Bonita..yea..bloody bastards...LOL shit for eating.Im guessing your big Spanish or something I see looks just like our kings we were catching. These are great broiled, grilled or smoked. but I don't like it fried..
This is our Spanish mackrel. Notice the dorsal is black...also lateral line don't drop down hard like a king. They don't get much bigger then this one... Great eating
Yes but here in Georgia in order to get into good water for them we have to get to the gulf stream..your talking 80 to 100 miles offshore. Makes for a very long day. We do occasionally get on one here and there closer in..but that's where to go if targeting them
