I am having a hell of a time finding what I need, I am trying to make what we will call a steamer and I need to keep the liquid at a temp. around 170-180 degrees. I am using a water heater element and thermostat that heats it up to 180 degrees, but the thermostat has a 45 degree drop before it kicks back on and it drops down to 145 which is way to low. Any ideas?

if I wire it direct then I would have to stand there and unplug it when it gets to 180 and plug it back in when it drops. or else it would keep heating uo untill my house disapeared, and that would suck!:(Originally posted by yngguns
try getting a programmable thermostat so you can eliminate the 45 deg drop, otherwise wire the startyer directly to the coil and it will stay on continuously.
