  • The male birth control shot looks promising, but needs work

    http://www.nydailynews.com/life-styl...icle-1.2848924

An international research team gave 320 men ages 18 to 45 two shots of a progesterone (the female hormone) mixed with testosterone (the male hormone) every eight weeks to reduce their sperm count until they were made more or less infertile. After six months, when sperm counts dropped below a million, the couples relied solely on the shots for birth control for up to 56 weeks. And in that time, only four pregnancies occurred in the 274 couples that completed the study.
But there are a couple of kinks to work out. The study had to be stopped early because of the high rate of side effects in the men, particularly depression and mood disorders. The male patients also complained of an increased sex drive, acne, muscle aches and pain at the injection site.

lol...but then again, we have so many of us on gear and get the misses prego.

the male patients complained about an increased sex drive?:retard::rofl::retard::rofl:wow...where's traps when you need him:D

testosterone itself was tested i think in the 70's as a form of male birth control. it's rate of success was only something like 70% so it was discontinued for that use. so adding in progesterone to that mix i can see it more successful. basically a test and deca cycle like i'm on.

      Agreed.

But what then can be said for those who are ON and get the misses prego?

      So many variables.

Yeah I think it's the progesterone that does it. The test add is probably to balance other sides that you would otherwise get from the progesterone.

Test lowers spermicide count but doesn't lower it enough
