  • losing visceral fat

after reading many threads and articles on losing the gut and getting a six pack, everyone says to mainly focus on ur diet. well, doesnt that only work for the fat on top of the muscle, and not the visceral fat? im wundering becuz ive been lifting for only a year (started last summer) and after reading this site and others, i gained 30 lbs from 135-165. my waist inc. from 29 to 32 but i still have a six pack, albiet a little less defined. i figure that i gained visceral fat in my stomach, and was wondering how i would go about cutting it out. would it be based more on exercise or diet (i know its a combination of the two but which is mroe important)?

also, thanks for all the help u guys have given me the past year, and an additional thanks for the help u'll continue to give me in the future

diet is. You need to loose the fat to see more definition. Everyone has muscle down there once u loose that layer of body fat... Id see do abominals 3 days a week spaced out like a M W F... Make sure u hit up some of the weighted ones like in the gym. Or use a plate or medicine ball. Helps build the muscle for a more cut look. But u just need to work hardo n that diet and work out some it will come.

At only 165lbs. I'm pretty sure it's not visceral fat.

You put on weight man (naturally), it's only natural to get a little bigger around the belly area. If you wanna trim it up some hit the cardio and watch the diet.

As far as picking one to see results, I'd pick the diet.
