I am trying to stay lean....doesnt have to be very clean meals though. i need something heavier than my chicken/tuna/turkey that i eat now. the nuts sound like a good idea, but isnt the sodium going to eat at my muscle? and also are the calories worth all the fats? maybe eating some nuts would be a good idea, but cant make a meal of it, heh...but if you could give me both kinds of meals that would be great i could just switch them up.

I'm confused. You're trying to stay lean but your meals don't have to be clean? If you're trying to stay lean and need more calories, you can also eat lean red meat.(sirloin tip, lean ground sirloin, round steak, flank steak, filet) Unfortunately, there isn't much red meat you can eat cold. You could precook it and eat it cold, though. Eat 1c. of nuts throughout the day, and you've just added about 800 calories to your diet.Originally posted by Slashmonay

Since when does sodium eat at your muscle? I've eaten tons of sodium throughout my precontest diet. And since when do nuts themselves have a lot of sodium? If you're that concerned about it, get the unsalted or lightly salted. I think you need to do a little more research about proper diet. The fats found in nuts are mostly HEALTHY fats, which your body needs in order to burn bodyfat for energy, and not muscle.
