Thought I would present this to get some expert opinions...

Here are some common sushi rolls that I really like to eat and thier nutitional value (found on Kirin's world of sushi)

    (Per 100g serving)
Description Calories (kcal) Protein (g) Fat (g)
    Maguro (Tuna) 133 28.3 1.4
    Tai (Red Snapper) 112 19.0 3.4
    Ebi (Shrimp) 107 23.7 0.7
    California Roll 146 03.5 2.5

Is there something wrong with Sushi? It seems to good to be true. Soy sauce (if used) has no fat and actually provides some extra protein (high sodium, but unless your trying to shed water this shouldnt be a problem)! Wasabi also has no fat but is loaded with vitamins.

    Thoughts?

Sushi is very good and is definitly a bodybuilder friendly food. Like you said, it is high in sodium but if your not worried about sodium it is no problem. Me and sana eat it every now and then.

if your cutting, stick with sashimi.

and nigiri sushi is better than a roll. the amount of protein you get with a roll is low compared to the total amount of carbs.

it's not bad for you - just depends on what your goals are at the time.

I agree, love sashimi, the only negatives I can see to someone cutting is the sodium (soy sauce) and the white rice for the rolls. They also tend to use sugar when making the rice.

I try to go to places that make brown rice and order sashimi..

Edamame is also great if you get it unslated...

I've yet to see a sushi place that uses brown rice.

I'm going to keep my eye out for it though. Sounds like it would be interesting. Or at least sashimi served over a bed of brown rice. *drools*
