Old Fashioned. I love the organic rolled oats form the health food store. You don't have to cook them, either, if you don't have the time or energy to nbother. You can put a little sweetner or the topping of your choice on them and eat just like any breakfast ceareal. I like to put a couple of scoops whey on there with skim milk.....yt

Some of this is over my head but what I've read about the Glycemic Index indicates
that you want the old fashioned Quaker Oats. Vince Gironda said yrs ago that it was the only one you could buy except in a health food store that was acceptable. The
folks at Zone Diet's website pretty much agree but insist that the steel cut version from the health food is far better. (They answer questions on line.) Frank Zane also
touted the steel cut oats as opposed to the rolled ones.

does it taste any different then raw oats?Originally posted by figure_champfor a change - try baking the oats in a pan for about 10 minutes at 350 (careful not to burn) - let them cool and just eat 'em dry. It's a good change and almost tastes like a cheat.
