Hey guys I was just wondering what kind of oatmeal do you guys eat? And if any difference what is better for you, Quaker quick 1 minute oats or traditional plain oats?

I use the quick 1 minute oats, and add a spoonful of natty peanut butter, and a 1/4 cup of sugar free maple syrup. TASTES GOOD!!:agree:

I use the regular. But it doesn't really matter. If you read the label on how to prepare it in a microwave they are exactly the same. 1/2 cup oats, top with water and nuke. I nuke it for 1 1/2 minutes. And that's how easy it is.

I do regular oatmeal with skim milk and raisins, but I keep hearing not to use instant oatmeal because it's refined and you don't get all the benefits

quick oats are simply whole oats that have been chopped into little pieces ... same exact thing only smaller

it doesn't matter which but you choke less on the original. that is if you eat them raw. which i do, they get addictive to chew on them, much like chewing tobacco.

Old Fashioned. I love the organic rolled oats form the health food store. You don't have to cook them, either, if you don't have the time or energy to nbother. You can put a little sweetner or the topping of your choice on them and eat just like any breakfast ceareal. I like to put a couple of scoops whey on there with skim milk.....yt

for a change - try baking the oats in a pan for about 10 minutes at 350 (careful not to burn) - let them cool and just eat 'em dry. It's a good change and almost tastes like a cheat.

Some of this is over my head but what I've read about the Glycemic Index indicates
that you want the old fashioned Quaker Oats. Vince Gironda said yrs ago that it was the only one you could buy except in a health food store that was acceptable. The
folks at Zone Diet's website pretty much agree but insist that the steel cut version from the health food is far better. (They answer questions on line.) Frank Zane also
touted the steel cut oats as opposed to the rolled ones.

Like the idea of baking them. Will definitely try that. Thanks
