  • Creatine 3 times a day?

The recommended serving for creatine (the kind i have), is 2 servings a day

I'd like to take 3 servings, one after breakfeast, one just before my workout, and one after dinner

is there any signifcant reason why I should not take 3 servings?

in other words would it be harmful at all, taking in 3 servings instead of 2 per day?

Not harmful. Too much though could cause gastrointestinal distress and cause diarrhea or cramps, but other than that no bother.

Maybe it's just me, but I get kidney pains if I take too much creatine for an extended period of time.

Well studies say that any creatine that isn't absorbed by the body will turn to creatinine which ends up getting filtered out of the body by the kidneys, so you never know. Can't say for sure. Maybe yj would know.

well i haven't had any cramps with the two a days so far....

would it be safe to try the 3 a day, and then if i happen to have any conflicts, i cut it back down to 2?

I'm actually taking swole v2 which isn't exactly creatine, but I figured more people are familiar with creatine and i'd get more of a response asking about creatine

if you up your intake to 3 times daily then you're just wasting your money. Anything in excess just turns to waste and regardless if you feel side effects from intaking that much creatine is not the point. your body simply doesn't have a use for this in excess, its just like protein in that too much is shitted out and the creatine is pissed out so save your money bro.

Your body can and will only use certain amounts of exogenous creatine. Anything over this amount will simple be converted to creatinine (as mentioned above) and filtered through the renal system and excreted. Creatinine rarely negatively effects the kidneys (read: renal system) but in fact is used to measure how optimal renal function is. A urea test (urine-protein analysis) can tell you how much creatinine you're body is producing as waste, but this test isnt necessary. Use the recommended dose given by the distributor.
