I need a clarification on a cyclical ketogenic diet (CKD). As I understand there is a carb-loading phase, followed by a carb depletion and ketosis period. The point I am unclear on is whether there is any additional carb consumption around workout times. I assume that the theory is that there is sufficient stored glycogen from the carb loading that there is no need for carbs before but what about post-workout recovery? I appreciate any insight into this.
I'm trying a CKD short-term because I've reached my goal using the tarketed ketogenic diet (TKD) but wanted to see the difference in energy levels and workout performance between the two. Thanks again.
