OK, here's the thing. Juice is technically already concentrated. It takes quite a few oranges/apples to get one glass of orange/apple juice and you have alot of fiberous material left over, not just a bit of pulp floating around in the juice. One orange/apple doesn't have the equivalent of one glass of juice in it, so it's not like eating a couple of oranges/apples. It's like eating a six or seven oranges or around two dozen apples. And eating half a dozen oranges a day is pretty much overkill.Originally posted by 1badMFdont buy concentrated juice. Only juice i buy is OJ and it says "not from concentrate". it has the pulp and everything like if you hand squeezed it. I don't think in any way that a juice could be worse or at the same level as a soda.
And I'm not saying that overall, juice is worse or at the same level as a soda. As far as sugar content yes, they're comperable. As far as overall nutrition. Um, yeah, it's obvious that juice is better because the carbonation and acid and syrup in soda is the worst part of it, not the sugar.

its not the sugar we are discussing here. its the carbonation.Originally posted by babybluesDid you know that there's the same amount of sugar in 8 oz of apple juice as there is in 8 oz of soda? Nobody claims that drinking too much apple juice makes you fat.

little snipit I copy and pasted.
Carbon dioxide is a waste product of cellular and food metabolism, as such the body wants to expel it. Carbonated beverages also burden the body by weakening stomach acid, thereby interfering with proper digestion.

Um, yes it is the sugar we're discussing here, because when the thread was started, the question was are diet sodas (with no sugar) better for you than regular sodas. YOU're the one discussing carbonation. :POriginally posted by THE BOUNCERits not the sugar we are discussing here. its the carbonation.

just to be clear, i dont think anything carbonated, be it soda or water has a place in a bodybuilders diet.

Diet Rite is the only ok soda suitable for a clean diet thats readily available at grocery stores . 0 carbs, 0 calories, 0 sodium, 0 caffeine. And we call it pop here too!
Its not so bad. I actually learned to like the cola alot more than the mainstream diet colas and they have flavors now like white grape and I think raspberry and such.....

anyways, i think these threads are funny. it seems like people are trying to make excuses and defend soda. it's the addiction talking, not the true you... ah, it's not that bad unless you take it to the extreme.
