There you go. That's what I was trying to say before. To get the same amount of juice eating whole fruit would be a bit ridiculous.

OK, here's the thing. Juice is technically already concentrated. It takes quite a few oranges/apples to get one glass of orange/apple juice and you have alot of fiberous material left over, not just a bit of pulp floating around in the juice. One orange/apple doesn't have the equivalent of one glass of juice in it, so it's not like eating a couple of oranges/apples. It's like eating a six or seven oranges or around two dozen apples. And eating half a dozen oranges a day is pretty much overkill.

And I'm not saying that overall, juice is worse or at the same level as a soda. As far as sugar content yes, they're comperable. As far as overall nutrition. Um, yeah, it's obvious that juice is better because the carbonation and acid and syrup in soda is the worst part of it, not the sugar.

I like having Pepsi or Coca Cola at least once per day. I think in moderation they will not harm you.

its not the sugar we are discussing here. its the carbonation.

little snipit I copy and pasted.

Carbon dioxide is a waste product of cellular and food metabolism, as such the body wants to expel it. Carbonated beverages also burden the body by weakening stomach acid, thereby interfering with proper digestion.

Um, yes it is the sugar we're discussing here, because when the thread was started, the question was are diet sodas (with no sugar) better for you than regular sodas. YOU're the one discussing carbonation. :P

ya, your right. lol. i guess I saw that you qouted and then started talking about sugar and such made me think that you thought i was saying soda makes you fat.

just to be clear, i dont think anything carbonated, be it soda or water has a place in a bodybuilders diet.

Diet Rite is the only ok soda suitable for a clean diet thats readily available at grocery stores . 0 carbs, 0 calories, 0 sodium, 0 caffeine. And we call it pop here too!

Its not so bad. I actually learned to like the cola alot more than the mainstream diet colas and they have flavors now like white grape and I think raspberry and such.....

well, what does it have in it? i'm not that keen on drinking a bunch of artificial crap...

anyways, i think these threads are funny. it seems like people are trying to make excuses and defend soda. it's the addiction talking, not the true you... ah, it's not that bad unless you take it to the extreme.
