Yes, it's definitely a traditional Pennsylvania Dutch dish. My father ate the hell out of it. I think it's absolutely disgusting!

For those of you not familiar:

Scrapple is typically made of hog offal, such as the head, particularly the heart, liver, and other scraps, which are boiled with any bones attached (often the entire head), to make a broth. Once cooked, bones and fat are discarded, the meat is reserved, and (dry) cornmeal is boiled in the broth to make a mush. The meat, finely minced, is returned, and seasonings, typically sage, thyme, savory, and others, are added. The mush is cast into loaves, and allowed to cool thoroughly until gelled.

Sorry - I meant scrapple was like a regional thing because a LOT of people have never heard of it. My grandmother used to cook it for me and she was from Virginia....

It was a book written by Dr. D'Adamo called Eat Right 4 Your Type. I'm sure you could find forums or other sites that spell out what you're supposed to eat/not eat if you don't want to look at the book.

Believe it or not - I did. She used to fry it in a skillet for breakfast. It's been a long time since I've had it though - no plans on eating it ever again, lol.....
