Lyle McDonald thinks that ketogenic diets are extreme and unnecessary. His Ultimate Diet 2.0 is describes a low carb phase for 3.5 days, a high carb phase for 1.5 days and a low to moderate carb phase for 2 days. He explains in great technical detail the physiological basis for his recommendations. Lyle is a highly respected figure in this field and I have heard very good things about the approach.

You can get his book on Amazon.

Ive only been on for 11 days, but good results so far. Im sure a lot of the weight is water weight due to the lack of carbs. if u have no problem sticking to a strict menu then I think the results will follow.
