  • Sugar after training when cutting

I usually have a glass of orange juice or ice tea after training to get some sugar. If I am trying to lose fat, should I drop this?

i don't think it will hurt you but there has to be a better way to get sugar than orange juice or sweet tea.....

dextrose and maltodextrin are basically higher GI carbs than sugar right? So I was assuming he would have the sugar to facilitate recovery just like one would take a post-workout supp. I don't know if that is a good way to go or not but I do know that I dont use dextrose or malto when cutting.

I always had heard dextrose provides a slight insulin spike POW - so I take it before drinking my shake. Is this misinformation or am I on the right track with this ?

Not really. I always thought fast carbs after workout and in the morning are the way to go. It's not like I miss it if I don't have it.

When I start to lean up come summer, I replace the dextrose in my shake with oatmeal. Thich and sludgy, but slower digesting carb.

sorry to repeat this but the reason to take in the dextrose etc ... is for the insulin spike... right ?

Yes. YOur muscle are depleted of glycogen. The insulin spike rushes the protein and carbs to your muscle refilling some glycogen and starting to heal your muscle
