What's the verdict on just sparkling spring water? No artificial sweeteners or anything added. Just carbonated water. Any issue with it?

pretty good bro. i haven't even been adding lemon or lime. ever since my hospital scare last week i just been concerned with staying hydrated. i was severely over trained (blood CT levels 7000, normal is like 200) I was also severely dehydrated. took almost 3 days of IV for them to be comfortable with my hydration level. word to the wise for anyone on dbol. double your water intake as that shit sucks up all the water for your muscles and leaves nothing for the rest of your body.Originally posted by convictmuscle View PostHey B, how's the water with lemon or lime coming along? I'm down to 1 diet coke a day but still hit the crystal light pretty hard.

Sparkling water is fine bro. For years I thought it was bad for you, but it's not. We buy a case of regular sparkling water and drink about 1 or 2 cans of it ED for variety, that's all.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostWhat's the verdict on just sparkling spring water? Keep it simple and basic.

Is there any science linking artificial Sweeteners with muscle spasms?
My spasms in my back have been 75% better the last few weeks. Anyways, the other day I had diet root beer, the first artificial sweetener I've had since I passed out. Anyway, after drinking the root beer I'll be damned if my spasms didn't get worse the rest of the day. Coincidence or any science to this?

I haven't heard of anything like that. Maybe the caffeine had something to do with it. Caffeine increases blood pressure and pulse. It also is a vasodilator. So maybe with increased blood flow throughout your body it caused muscle spasms.Originally posted by Bouncer View PostIs there any science linking artificial Sweeteners with muscle spasms?

Aspartame Effects on Muscles
Research conducted at Washington State University reports a link between certain artificial food additives and muscle pain and cramps. The study notes that patients with a chronic pain disorder called fibromyalgia, or FM, showed improved symptoms after completely removing aspartame and a food additive called monosodium glutamate, or MSG, from their diet. This is thought to occur because both aspartame and MSG are "excitotoxins" that can trigger excess activity in a nervous system called NMDA.
