  • Reccomendation for Rehab Suplimentation...

    Hi everyone

I am recovering from ACL replacement surgery right now and along with the weight gain, the muscle atrophy in my leg(s) is downright appalling. The Dr. has let me back in the gym with instructions to put some size on my legs.

I know AAS can be tough on ligaments, am I right in assuming that PH might have a simmilar effect? I'm looking to put on some size while dropping some weight and I thought that PH might be my best option. I have never done PH before.

I train 4-5 days a week, with success and my diet, if imperfect, is getting better all the time. I am 6' 220 with a bf in the high teens or low twenties.

Thanks in advance, any and all advice is very much appreciated.

One more thing, I had some gyno removed when i was younger, which makes me wary about PH a bit. I know PCT is important, but I am unsure of how to go about finding some Nolva...will asking at my sup. store get me banned from the store?

Surgery was in March, had my first legs day at the gym yesterday (as well as reg physio).

The Dr said that the graft is remodling and is weaker than when it was first put in. Torsion is a scary thing for me right now, so i want to build the muscle fast (relatively) so I feel a bit more stable.

Nolva at superior research is just as good as the next.

Did your doctor approve a certain leg workout? If not what are you doing? You are only 3-4 months post op. Your CNS is still recovering. The PH can cause complications so stay away from those. You will build your legs back up at least to where they were pretty quickly now that you have moved on from low impact rehab exercises to weight lifting.

Having never used needles before, how difficult is it to use them properly, ie: getting the right dosage, not spilling out of the puncture, etc.

                Cool, thanks.

There are a bunch of perscribed exercises for physio, but when I saw him last he told me i really had to push myself in the gym...I assume that he didn't give me exercises because I look like I know what i'm doing (not that i actually do or anything :) )

                Yesterday was:
leg press, hack squats, leg ext, ham curls, calves, walking lunges, balance stuff and some mild explosive stuff (squatting to a bench and then exploding up under control)

I'm fully machines right now and doing one leg at a time...

What are you using needles for? To answer your question, they are easy to use. But if you start taking stuff and weaken your tendons or build the muscle faster than your body can adapt, you will be screwing yourself bad. You need to give yoursel at least 6 months before attemting to implement anything other than food and protien supplemements. Total recovery can take up to a year post op on an ACL.

Don't do ANY explosive movements with weights if you are looking to. Espeacially since your ACL is being slightly broken down by your body now and re-building. It's good to keep slow controled contractions. Be careful with the hacks and listen to your knee. After a month of solid training you can try and introduce light weight squats. But most importantly listen to your knee for about 3 more months.

the needles quest was in regards to the Nolva (which looked like it was sitting next to a needle) and is now a moot point considering what you have said about PH, thanks.

Yeah, this recovery thing is a bitch. Could I start creatine again, or should i stick to whey and multi vitamins?

I really appreciate the advice btw.

That's an oral syringe next to the tamox. I havn't used that before, but I believe there is a stopper that you attatch to the top of the bottle that the syringe conects to. Then you just draw it out and squirt it in your mouth.
