    I am overloaded with stress right now. I'm at the point where I'd love to just run away and hide out in a cave, alone. Is there anything herbal that can possibly help (even just a little) your mental/emotional well being? I don't like taking things, have never taken meds, etc, but I'm grasping. My body handles stress very physically, and I can't afford another dive anytime soon. Any suggestions?

    Herbalists swear by valerian root as a natural valium but I have no experience with it.

      I take 4-5 valerian root caps before bed every night. Takes the edge off just enough to relax.

        I will try it, but I just don't want something that's going to make me feel tired. I have stuff to do, a lot of it, all the time!

            I concur with the valerian root as a relaxant. St. Johns wort is more of a mental wellness herbal supplement. Otherwise, there are some chinese herbal things that are near impossible to find.

                    Vitamin b is particularly useful to the body in handling stress generally FB.

                    I'm contious you are a parent with responsibilities so it's no good someone suggesting something that knocks you out. I use bach original flower remedy called rescue night. It works great, you fall asleep easier but your not in any way out of it. You don't have worry dreams and you wake up fine and fresh

                      I'm going to try the "stress relief" version of a vitamin blend and the Valerian root at night. Hopefully none of it screws with my vitamin k/INR levels.

                          Injectable B12, V root is pretty good. I used it when my insomnia was bad.

                          What is causing the stress? Remove it if possible.

                          Ride a bike or go on a run.

                            I can't just remove it, but I'm working on at least making the least of it possible.

                            I have been running - and while that feels great at the time, it doesn't do much afterwards.

                              I try not to get too much into my personal life, but I thought maybe someone had some tried and true suggestions.

                              I do fun things with my children, and yes, that feels great. But face it, sometimes that's just not enough.

                              I think/hope things will get better soon. Just trying to make the best of it til I get there.
