    I take no pre workouts at all besides a small meal of eggs and oatameal,,on my way to the gym about 30 minutes later I do drink some STRONG coffee. Its all I need and doesnt leave me over stimulated.

      It's not necessary, but they definitely do help. I currently take a pre workout to have great/ high intensity workouts and then whey protein to recover.
