  • What do you think?

Hey , I wanted to know what you all thought of this. Ok, i was talking with this guy and I asked him his workout. If does Monday, Thursday- Chest, back,shoulers....Thuesday and Friday-Legs,Arms. I myself usally do either a 3 day split or 4 hitting the muscles once a week. He also said "Over the last few years there has been tons of research that shows that the effects of a workout is totally gone after 48 hours (ie: the muscle leaves its anabolic state and the chemical and physical effects of the workout are gone). Working a muscle group after that 48 hours is optimal, as it keeps your body in an anabolic state more often (which encourages muscle growth). " Ok, now I'll post his workout.

I am not sure what "anabolic" effect he is talking about but it doesn't make sense. even if you muscle stopped growing at that point (which it doesn't) it doesn't imply that you will lose growth or strength. and doesn't imply that you need to work out again in 24 hours. plus the fact that a muscle can recover in that amount of time (which I am not conceeding, I am just playing along) doesn't mean the body as a whole has recoverd. there is more to growth and recovery than having a muscle recover.

I like the upper body routine and I wouldn't see any need for direct arm work. However I'm unclear as to your exact question.

im unclear also, but in my opinion i think the routine is a bit much

i wouldnt train back and chest together. these are both very large muscles that need their own session. If you are set on the "training each muscle twice thing," try training bicep with chest and tricep with back . This way, your bi and tri get two workouts in one week. i def wouldnt train chest and back twice in one week though....just my opinion
