This is my first post, was wondering if I could get some opinions. I have been working out for a few years but lately have been trying to get rid of the bad form I have on some of my exercises.
I wanted to know what people think the proper form is for dumbbell bench press. I have been doing this exercise by having my arms at a start position with my arms at 90 degrees and bringing it all the way up. I can currently do 70-80 pounds for this. I have been told that I should be bringing it all the way down and touching my shoulders with each rep which I can only do with 60-65 pounds. Most of the people in the gym do it at a 90 degree angle as I have been doing and I have had good results that way. Would I get better results bringing the movement all the way down or is that exercising the smaller muscles in the shoulder and will not provide noticeable results?
Thanks
