What are the common wrong advice and teasing u hear in the gym? I mean as in people giving out wrong advice when thier not even in shape at all. Or when u see someone working out and doing the exercises all wrong. Also teasings, for example football players, coaches calling kids pussies for not lifting heavy. Im just 22 years of age and been training since i was 13. Im not too of an expert but probably have a better body than most 30-40 year olds. I ve heard storeis of people training for years and not gaining shit. Ive been hitting the gym seriously since 2000 and gained tremendous size hitting my best at 230 pounds from a 130 pound weakling. I see alot of people here in my gym giving out wrong advice on diets, workouts, and routines, and all. Ive corrected alot of those wrong advice giving peeople before. Im just the kind of guy who loves helping people achieving good results and all. I love seeing people smile about themselves when they see progress.
These are common mistakes I see in the gym.
On chest, people benching and letting the weight go down fast, instead of bringing it down slowly to feel the muscle. I see alot of people not going all the way down to the chest, instead just going half way up and down. Not gonna grow there BUDDY I tell them. Also the chest bouncing thing, ouch. Not only they could hurt themselves but no growth.
Ive seen some crazy people doing the chest machine seated. Some dude was once doing reps of 20 with a light-mid weight. He would finish a set and rest 10 seconds and then doing another and so on. When he was finished he was done with 10 sets on about 5 minutes. The moves on to back, and the same, and to the next body part, the whole body entirly.
For back, ive seen guys round thier back for rows. No wonder they complain about back hurting. For the lat pull downs, people going with the momentum of the weight. They bring the weight up and go with the cable up too , out of thier seat.
I once needed to use the leg press machine and this lady was on it to a long time. Me thiniinking she was gonna be off it. So im there and nothing. The lady was doing reps and reps non stop. Doing them fast and partial reps. Now shes off it, me thinking im next, no she increases the weight and sits on it again. Another 6 sets or so. Pisses me off.
Ive seen people lock thier legs alot, OUCH. JUts never wanna see someone snap thier kneecaps.
CURLS are the funny ones. I see some dudes doing what they call heacy, making all these funny faces and swinging thier bodies with the weight. Walking around like if they got big guns. Hahahaha.
The majority of people who I see there just do simple workouts, consisting of 3 sets per bodypart, oh and a full body workout.
I also hear people saying if its ok to do one day upper and one day lower body. This is where I explain on how it all workouts out and abot rest and growth.
This man there once in his 30's-40's was giving people advice once and people asking for more and more. He would practically swing the weight or had no form. He said he had 15 years of training experience. I was like wtf have u done wrong. He didnt even looked like he worked out at all. I was about 3 times bigger than him. Ha dto correct the guy.
I always tell people to eat right, the right foods. Get good rest. Eat every 3 hours and consume good amounts of protein if they wanna grow. For the ones who barely started wokring out, I tell them to eat 4 meals a day to start off with. Increasing little by little. I tell them training is good but if u do it right and the diet is what makes u grow. I wonder why some football players at my school when i was on it back in 1999, juicing up and wondered why they never grew. Or people lifting heavy and all and not growing. Its all about diet and eating good foods.
I explain about training routines alot too. I tell them not to hit the same bodypart everyday. U will burn ur muscle off and no growth nor results. I see some doing upper one day and lower the other. I tell them to best combine a big muscle with a little mucle and thats all they need. Working it out 1 time a week is enough if u do it good and correct.
WHAT PISSESME off is people who laugh at others for not lifting heavy. Who cares is u lift heavy or not. We are all beginers at one time. I just dont like people getting hurt because of some fools trying to look cool. FORM is what counts alot and not using momentum. I rather see a guy life a light weight and with good form than to see him struggling with a dumbell or barbell on his 2nd rep. I hate little punks who ask me about how much I bench, I go look I dont max out. I just do whta i can to achieve my goals. I do max out once in a while but concentrate more on muscle grwoing.
The best reward from all this is when all the people u helped come to u and tell u how good of a workout they had, and how thier bodies are changing because of me helping them. I love helping people out alot.
I helped my 19 year sister with her training and body. She has a killer body for her age and could compete if she wanted to. Shes lean as hell. She has a better body than most 20-40 ladies ive seen. Shes also helping alot of people out in training and running. Since she was in track, vollyball, and cross country, she jogs with alot of people and they have lost weight because of that.
Also, I trained some dude once in the gym. He would do the workouts all wrong and all. He came to me once and asked for advice. He wanted to put on some weight. I gave him all the advice he wanted to know. He said if he could use creatine, I go yea but alone it wont make u bigger. U need food and lots of protein. I told him to get some WHEY, so he did. I created a diet for him. After that I went to workout somewhere else never saw the guy. But he keep the routines and all. About 2 months later I went back to the same gym and saw some dude looking at me. He goes "yo", I was amazed. He has put on 15 pounds of muscle in 2 months. More fuller and bigger. I go to him , I told u bro. Just thanked me.
Ive helped alot of people out, and inspired alot of people too. Helped a friend go from 130-to 180 in a summer. Shouldve seen his face.
Im not a bber nor do I compete but i will in the near future. I was gonna do the local show here but instead waited for next year. Im gonna hit them with something the city hasnt seen, hehehehe. The biggest guy in the show was about 210 at 5'10''. Right now im at 228 now. Still gaining size, since the show is next July2005 I will have enough time to add some serious size. On cycle right now and aint stopping it ill December or January. Hope I hit 240 or if i could more. I aont no expert but from my personal experience I tey to help with the best that I can. I had some pics here from last year but theres a makor change in me from last year. I feel better about myself now than I did before.
Hope I didnt bore u all.:D
