Spasms and 'clinching' are common sides involved with hypertrophy. If you train a muscle hard enough and intensely enough, thats its way of muscle guarding and telling you to leave it alone until it heals. Im sure the AAS plays a role in the muscle degradation as well. I would likely give the same advice, but maybe recommend a potassium supplement as well, if its that severe.
