  • How do u maintain focus or drive

I dont have a problem with this, but I like to know the reasons why other people make sacrifices with diet and life in general to get their body in the direction they want....

yesterday i saw an old girlfriend with her new boyfriend, and i saw she kind of let herself go to say the least...I'm not really sure whether me seeing her resulted with jealousy or anger or happiness or what, it was just "weird" to see her again

but my workout last night was great (arm day), one of the best workouts i've had in a while...I felt like i could curl a damn car last night!!

I'd say girls are probably one of the initial reasons why i started lifting and eating right, but as time went on it became more or less something to accomplish, and it also is important in my baseball career...or hopefully a career in baseball

i see weightlifting and getting your body how you want it as the only thing in life you generally have 100% control over....nobody has to hire you, you don't have to worry about a teacher giving you ridiculous grades, you don't have to suck up, you don't have to be the coaches son, etc...your success or failure is completely up to you

what i do is picture myself looking good for the rest of my life or look at myself all fat/skinny and sloppy. Of course I wanna look good, so what i do is say to myself keep it up man, u've gone this far to achieve the body i have. I just try to look better than everyone else. Its hard for most people to keep routines and follow diet, "i gotta want it bad".

Right now, im eating like shit but training here and there, on and off but im not giving up. Reason cause I dont have money at the moment but as soon as i do, fuck watch out cause i blow up like crazy. This time i wont let it go, i wanna be on top and never give up. My dreams are to one day compete in the big times and i gotta start at the bottom.

For me I am obsessive Compulsive with everything I do. It helps me keep my ADD in check but fucks shit up if everthing doesn't fall into place. Case in point, this weekend I didin't get to plan all of my meals nor cook all of my lunches. Thus I have been in a rut, barely wanting to lift or eat.

I remind myself that if I skip this workout or check out early than the next workout will be harder. For me it's also a way to destress. Strenuous exercise actually neutralizes the toxins in your body caused by stress and it lowers your blood pressure. My blood pressure is always lower during my workouts than before. There's always a sense of accomplishment when you walk out of the gym knowing that you didn't feel like it, but you did it anyway and you're that much better off because of it.

That, and the looks on people's faces when you walk into a room with 18 inch arms, either one is enough for me to work out...

I would say my initial focus would have been girls, but after a million workouuts I think working out becomes something you need. Its just a part of your life, and when you dont do it you feel like somethings missing. That and I would some day like to bench press minicooper, or at least deadlift one like Franco!

I am definitely addicted-I literally have withdrawal when I don't get to work out several days in a row. But I'm still motivated by the simple desire to just be bigger and stronger than I was yesterday--basically I wanna be a freak!

Yeah, thinking of someone you don't like, and them being stronger than you gets me pumped the fuck up to lift as heavy as I can

when i was smaller, i used to pick a random huge guy from the gym and make him my nemesis in my head...i'd watch them and always try and train harder. It worked, though a few of the guys still give me wierd looks if i see them on the street. Now that i'm at a community gym, i'm the biggest guy there, but I train in order to have other people stare at me.

The whole thing is like an addiction though, lifting weights is tied into my self esteem and my own body image, such that if I skip a week, i start feeling like crap, regardless of how i look...

another thing to go along with the females....

everytime, a few months after i will breakup with a girl...i always question was it the right thing to do, should i have done it sooner, not at all, etc...

i always get nervous to see them again, i'm thinking when i see her in a year or so is she gonna be the finest girl i've ever seen, is she gonna be fit, is she gonna be borderline perfect..am i gonna regret this......or is she really gonna let herself go

i always look at it the opposite, when she see's me is she gonna regret what happened, or am i gonna look like a slob that just let himself go.....I don't ever want to let myself go...I wanna continue to improve what I got going on

I've got countless motives, could probably write a book

i stopped lifting back in dec and just started back a week ago. in those 10 months i lost about 35lbs. I look exactly the same, still built, just 35lbs lighter. I've never done AAS either, its just my genetics, the weight my body wanted to be at. Well, that last 8 days i've had 4 workouts and i've already gained back 7lbs. i'm realizing how much i missed it and how i want to get back into it. Before taking this break in dec i had been lifting for 8 years.

Yeah man, I think females are a target goal for alot of males. Not so much just to get females but to show all the other guys out there that you gave the time and effort to care about how you look. So for a female to notice that is the best feeling you could have. That's how I got my girlfriend of 3 years. She had past boyfriends who did nothing and drank all the time and expected to get a poster girl but it's not going to happen. Men need to realize that in order to get what you want you must work your ass off like you've never worked before. Keep your priorities straight, and most importantly BE CONFIDENT! Peace....
