For your problem take some motrin at 800mg at a time 4 times a day. Cut your running down because all you are doing is aggravating the problem. Stretch, stretch, and stretch!! Stretch the calves and then as mentioned above stretch out the front of your shins. Don't forget to stretch the quads. Do not attempt running again until the pain goes away or you will be back at square one. And when you do, go easy and build up your distance/pace.
Also, it could be your shoes, like mentioned above. A bad pair of shoes or a pair that the EVA cushioning has been compacted too much will tear you up. It is always best to buy two pairs of the same shoes and rotate them for running( one pair one day, then the other pair the next day). Since you are probably heavier than most runners, like I am, you need good cushioning shoes. After years of running and trying different companies, the best out there are either New Balance or like I run, Mizuno Wave Creation. The Mizunos have been by far the best I have ever used. Hope it all works out for you.Last edited by abnrgr_2; 12-31-03, 12:26 PM.
