well shrugs is about the only thing that is going to work them directly. how do you do your shrugs? DB's, Barbell ect? i go back and forth each week. slow and controlled with as much weight you can do for 12-15 reps. hold at the top for 2 seconds or so.

agreed. many things hit the traps indirectly. shrugs is pretty much the only movement that hits them directly.

use the standing calf machine ......standing in the machine get the pads rested on your shoulders then use your traps to raise and lower the weight ....burns those traps up

Narrow grip will hit them more than a wide grip upright row...

deadlifts always burn up my traps. i love it, since ive been bulking ive noticed them popping out which is always nice to see.

I was gifted with some nice traps, lol.

I don't usually do direct work on them, but once in a while I do. shrugs, face pulls, etc. I do alot of rowing and find that this hits them well... Underhand grip on the smith.. or when I do deads, well I make sure to squeeze them out on explosion.

                        :)
