  • My revelation on the gym

Before I stopped working out 3.5 months ago I was getting nowhere, I was being real careful with my diet. I was being all scientific with my workout. Then while I was not working out I was eating healthy but not large amounts of food to keep my weight, but most stayed on I went from 245 down to 225 alot of the weight was honestly fat, my pant size dropped from 38 to 34 and myarms are much more vascular.

Now when I came back to the gym I said screw it im gonna just eat wat I want still carbs in morning and small fats later in the day but I wasnt watching calories but made sure I got my protein, all i eat is steak pork and chicken anyways and hate sugar and salt so basically, it was just eggs, meats, mashed potatoes gallons of milk, and beer on the weekends.

Then for my workout I just do:

    Chest and Tris
    Upper Back and Bis
    off
    Lats and Traps
    off
    repeat

3 exercises just concentrating on getting the biggest pump possible not caring about the weight im doin ,just good form and doing 8-15 reps usually a 8 reps set then 10 rep set then 15 reps. I give little rest and just go non stop through my workout. if i feel like i got a little energy left i will do a final set and just go till failure like a 50 rep killer at the end.

It has been two weeks on this and all I can say is it is giving me awesome results I have lost fat, all my muslces are swollen and that sore feeling I crave is there, and i get an insane pump.

I got on the scale today I am up from 225 to 230 (prolly partially from the food intake increase).

My chest would never grow and I feel it being sore in places it never has the same with my biceps, I dont do legs because my foot has not healed fully yet doc said I should give it a year, I just pedal on the bike for 10 min after each workout, i kno i wrote alot but i just cannot believe how well this is working.

I just feel sometimes we start overthinking this whole game.

agreed. and we tend to make it not fun anymore. just like when you first start, you just eat and train to get big. you dont give a shit about counting carbs etc.. sometimes the less you know.. the better.

Exactly, the gym stopped being fun, now I am having a blast I can't wait to get in there and dont wanna leave. i feel so much better and I am way less stressed out worrying about cooking all my special meals and and all that crap

If you really want to start gettiing scientific, you should get metabolic assesments to figure out your resting metabolic rate so you know exactly how many calories you need.

And you should also get tested to figure out your aerobic base and anerobic threshold....

then you will truly be working out smarter

For some of us it isn't so simple. I was 95% the way there on diets and workout, etc and I still wasn't seeing results. If I'm not at 105% then I just don't see results.

i think its a little different for you. your main goal was to lose weight. we are talking about when we first got into it we were just eating everything to get big and remembering how fun it was.

Right now I think that since I'm not concerened about my diet I am training the best I ever have in the gym I have never felt this satisfied after leaving the gym... ever.

Maybe you should give it a try. I doubted it, I swore by being super scientific but now, every year I am going to take a break from the gym and cut slack in my diet,.

It's gonna be even better now, a friend of mine is is gonna start going to the gym so having a constant spotter and someone from the military pushing you to work harder I will expect to be an awesome addition.
