...add my first triathlon to my repertoire! It's July 11th- .6 mile swim, 20 mile bike, and 4 mile run...so a "mini" triathlon. I need some sort of goal- I need to lose some of the weight I just put on in Mexico; and then some...

Ok, so I guess this is just going to be my journal for this sprint triathlon. Yesterday, I did 8 miles on the bike at the gym...it was pretty boring & somewhat unchallenging, so I think i'm going to do spinning on the cycle days. I'm getting my dads 2nd bike thus weekend, so that will help.
BUT TODAY- I had to do 300 yds in the pool. And, let me just say- if you think your in shape- GO SWIMMING!!! Jesus- I thought I was going to barf up a lung after 50 yards! But, I finished it...and did an extra 100, but with some rest. ;) The swimming is what I'm most concerned about...because then tonight I had to run 2 miles. I thought it would be impossible, but it was really pretty easy.
On a side note, I was looking through this training manual I have, and it said I need to be eating 30 gms of carbs each hour, and increase possibly up to 60 as the training increases??! I don't think I've eaten that many, even at the beginning of a comp diet..?! I obviously want to lose a little more weight doing this, so anyone have any thoughts on this?

Ok, so I have 7 weeks left...Yesterday I swam again, which was MUCH better than last week. I still have a ways to go, but I feel better about it. I then ran 3 miles around 9 last night...Diet has been tweaked & I'm eating alot more carbs....as soon as I'm done swimming- I am famished.
I'm totally ok with the running...I biked 8 miles last week, but I really need to get ont he actual bike & get my booty adjusted to that hard ass seat. I'll be hopping on it tomorrow, I guess and again on Saturday. Really need to step up the swimming, though.
Still on the hunt for my triathlon suit. I can't believe the amount of money you can drop on one. Some of them are $300!!!
Anyway, I was wondering- how many days a week should I be doing weights? 2? 3?
Right now I'm working out 6 days a week- 2-3 of those days are 2/day workouts-
