that was working the best brother - I love my DL's built my back up better than anything (including trap growth) but as I'm rehabbing the knee I can't really do them. And I do the reverse grips and that squeeze I certainly feel the trap down through my entire back (like the photo you posted). I'm sure in time they will catch up.Originally posted by radoHow about you do DL's and wide grip reverse pull ups? There's an idea.
Also do you guys find your strong hand is always strongest in pushing / pulling movements in general - my arms / chest / traps - all of them grow slightly faster than the left , my weak hand. And no, I haven't been jacking it that much, so don't go there :P

A very simple variation that has worked well for many I've suggested it to do DB shrugs, but one side at a time. Hold DB's in both hands, but alternate the reps within the set, instead of doing them at the same time. Some just get a better range of motion that way.

interesting - have you tried any type of shrugs w/cables ? I know it sounds awkward but those have been blowing my training partners traps outta control - he has pretty freakish genetics - minus his wheels :rofl:Originally posted by Shibby View PostA very simple variation that has worked well for many I've suggested it to do DB shrugs, but one side at a time. It all depends on the the cables and how you can adjust them. So older set ups just don't have the design to even get close to making it work. Mostly though, they all seem like a more complex movement than needed. Don't forget, that newer, more complicated doesn't automatically mean better.

I learned to lift with football brother - simple compounds have been bread and butter - that's why I asked about the cables - I am not a huge fan of them aside from push downs and rope curls for the inner head of the biOriginally posted by Shibby View PostIt all depends on the the cables and how you can adjust them. What drugs are you on, seriously?Originally posted by radoMassive huh? But you don't even hit the weights...I hardly ever, I mean ever hit traps and yet mine are pretty big...Traps are part of your back...I have a thick wide back...So essentially my traps tend to stay big.
Once again, you're talking out your ass here...Tall "skinny" guys tend to struggle with JUST more than calves and traps...
The point is GENETICS plays a role for everyone and just about everything red....Read your post of "I think good genetics play a big role in good traps."
