  • Tore my chest.

    Last week during a bench press I tore my pec. :fight:
    For my first set I did 135lbs for 20 reps, second set 185lbs for 15 reps went up to 225 to do 12 reps did five reps lowered the weight for the sixth and man my fucking chest tore like a fucking fabric. No joke initially I thought I tore my shirt because of the sound and then the crazy pain shot a cross my chest. Luckily my buddy was standing behind the bench so he picked the weight off my chest immediately. I didn't hear a full on pop of the tendon so I'm hoping it's a minor tear.

    Here is the fucked up part...three doctors including the ER doctor thinks its the upper bicep tear then I went and got an MRI which was a compete fuck up because moron tech took my shoulder MRI instead ofmy chest so they can't see anything wrong with the chest but at the same time they confirmed that bicep and shoulder is fine.
    So Monday I'm going to see a sports injury specialist and see what he says. I read bunch of articles watched tons of videos and everything including the way I feel says it's a pec tear and if it i...surgical repair is a must.
    And from what I read recovery process is a bitch.
    This is how it looked after I came home from the hospital.



    Next morning.


    By noon.



    Two days later.



    And by the fourth day.

    I just don't get why your bicep is so bruised up and nothing looks wrong with your chest. just based on pics i would agree with the docs that it is a bicep tear and not pec. but then again, i cant feel what it feels like and if you say its your chest thats painful then i believe ya.

        This guy sounds like and idiot but watch the video. Chest tendon is attached to the bone under the bicep that's why when it tears bruising happens on the bicep.

          yea but the only bruising you have is in the bicep alone. not in the armpit area not anywhere but the bicep. just seems odd.

                    Damn brah, that sucks...hopefully your be back at it soon enough. I'm jonesing to get back at it, but aint no way for a while yet. Looks like we are both on the bench for a while.:disagree:

                      Its a pec tear no doubt about it. I'm betting you were jerking the weight and doing fast reps. Surgery may not be appropriate if its a partial tear which I think it was. But you need to stop pressing movements for a month, get some gh and deca and come talk to me, I've been there

I don't do fast jerky movement unless I'm mastubating :D if anything I think I was going to slow and trying to get the full stretch at the bottom since the weight wasn't to heavy and yes I will be hitting the gh and deca once I know what kind of tear for sure. I don't wanna start a fast healing process until then.
