Matt, the concept of adipower and other olympic lift shoes is twofold;
1) they provide absolute rigidity and stability, trainers are generally made to soften shock and help you run I.e. Designed for impact movement. This is the opposite of what you want when performing olympic lifts or squatting (olympic lifts generally include a squat as part of the movement). The rigidity and sfability they provide ensures you dont lose energy/strength sidewayz trying to balance and ensures all the leg drive power goes straight down into the floor.
2) they have an inbuilt raised heel, what this does is simulate where people put 5lb plates under yheir heel when squatting but agajn does it in an inbuilt rigid way, safer. The effect is that again all the power is driven through the heel, as it should be, and, you are more eadiky able to squat very deep and keep your upperbody upright and means less of tbeu strain is taken up by the lower back as most people have to lean forward in order to hit depth. With these you dont and tbe result is that all the force goes through the legs and ass, exactly where you want it.

Bro, I don't work for adidas, and there are cheaper brands; including nike and other adidas versions.Originally posted by monster70k View Post$200 for shoes I will use 1x a week for 15 min while I do squats - or am I missing something?
All im saying is that I had the best squat session in a long time and they cn save your back alot of grief. $200/spine, for me they worth it
