    I wouldn't even begin to worry about calipers, etc until I was visually in the single digits. Personally.

    However, if he's keeping an accurate log, I can understand his perspective as well.

      I'm planning to keep a lot of data so I can see how each element affects me. I'm keeping my weight, resting heart rate, blood pressure, body fat, various tape measurements and caliper measurments, diet, caloric intake, amount of time per week doing cardio and weight training and probably a couple other measures. Once I have gathered the data for a number of weeks I can start running Anovas to see how the different elements affect me and then make chances and monitor those changes and how they affect me.

        It's just a different mindset I guess. I'm very black and white with things. If i'm not improving or making progress I simply adjust my diet to make that happens by cleaning up the diet until I achieve that goal.

          Keep it simple, when you start incorporating all these different ideas and techniques, trying to combine different ideas and theories, you may spin your wheels. It is almost like there is too much information out there.

            Pant size until you can see an outline of your abs. Don't see any point in fancy measurement schemes unless you are trying to get below 15%.

              I figured that darn digital scale was off. The tape test measured me at 24% body fat and the caliper I ordered came in and it measured me at 26% body fat. So, I still have a long way to go but I am not as bad as I thought I was.
