  • Coleman Putting More Strain On His Spine

    Shrugging with 140's...

I admire him but I cringe and hope he doesn't end up in a god damn wheel chair.

Is this really doing him any good at all? How about some slow and controlled 75lb db's instead? Just for the sake of his spine. He may be sitting but there is still 280lbs of total downward force on top of his bodyweight pulling his spine down into the seat. That cannot be good for a guy with some 5-10 spine surgeries.. lol

With his mentality it is probably either that way or never step foot in a gym again. If it's what he loves doing and knows the consequences then good for him.

You think if he were to paralyze himself he would look back and say "I'm glad I did those shrugs that final day in the gym it was worth it"?

I honestly don't think he actually understands just how bad things can get.

At some point, you've got to question his mental state.

          Lightweight baby!

I have to disagree. He's truly hardcore till death does its part. Some people are just like that. I do believe he knows this is not good for him.

Look at some of the craziest motherfuckers that have done other sports and have been as insane as Ronnie is.

I'm not saying your absolutely wrong Mr I but how can there not be any strain on spine there? Doesn't make sense to me. Spine might be straight but there is still downward compression.

It's one thing to go all out and become an 8 time MR O. That's understandable, he did something nobody else has done. He made his mark in the world.

BUT at 52, retired, and after something like 10 back surgeries what's the point?

I'm not suggesting he gives up and quits the gym. I'm suggesting he put down the 140's and pick up the 75's for shrugs. I'm suggesting he doesn't make his quality of life much much worse for the next 20 years by trying to train like he did 10 years ago.

Watching that double bounce at the end of the movement to bring the weight back up made my spine hurt. lol.

He has no point or anything to prove. He's programmed himself or is truly this way, hard-core.

Some people bro are just going to keep at it regardless of the situation or consequences, that my friend is passion to it's finest

You have to understand how the spine and the white tissue that protect it work. Arms by the sides like that with no lateral strain and the weight by his sides. No risk especially only 140s

Total of 280 plus half his bodyweight. Your saying there is no issue with compression of the spine for a guy with how many surgeries and screws in his spine. Your saying Ronnie's spine specialist and surgeon would take a look at that video and say "perfectly fine no strain to spine"?

Props for getting back to it and training, however there is no reason to go that hard. You're just asking for another injury. All other takes is one small mistake and boom, it's all over. The man lots 2" of his height because of his back surgeries. I guess some people never learn

This is just like Kevin Levrone benching 405lbs weeks before his show. No need for a 52 year old man lifting that much
