  • Split training leg day

I've been having a hard time getting my legs to react/grow here lately.

Been training em twice a week but I only get a hour 15 minutes each day so I feel I'm always checking up short on the meaty exercises like squats, hacks. leg presses

So now I'm thinking about training legs back to back days.

First day train the back of my legs hams & calves doing three different exercises for hams then the next day train the front, leg press, squats, hacks, then leg extensions.

So if there's any reason why i shouldn't take this rout please feel free to let me know, also if you've done this routine and have some tips or advice I would sure like to know.

If I were you I would only do leg extensions at a light weight high reps, if at all. It's horrible on your knees. The sheer force on your joint is bad juju. Bulgarian split squats work your quads and are a lot better on your knees than leg extensions.

I concentrate on quad exercises one day and hamstring the other like you are doing.

I've never taken longer then an hour to train legs. You should definitely be able to crush them in that period of time.

That said, I'm all for changing shit up so yeah give it a try.

Sounds like a plan. I get blood flowing faster with high reps anyway so this sounds great.
        Thanks

Hell I don't have the time for days like that. lol

I get 75, 80 minutes a day for two muscle groups, 4 ta 5 different exercises, 5 sets each. Yeah it can get rough.

I also have a day for four arms & calves.

Honestly I wouldn't even want four days off from lifting.

Two days works great for me.

i do something pretty similar. good split. if your going balls to the wall it's hard for the body to do it multiple days in a row. even when doing different body parts.

I think so too. If your not wiped out in an hour, your intensity is not high enough. You may be training them too often. Have you ever backed off to just once per week just to see how you respond?
