Yellow, are you back here again? LMFAO @ U!!!!
    Actually I weigh 105lbs.
Why would I be more comfortable asking a woman? Its not like we're discussing anything WOMAN related.
This is food we are talking about. You seem to have a wealth of knowledge Yellow and not much inclination to share it.

I appreciate your perspective on the topic, but this is the Nutrition forum last time I checked, not the mens' forum.

Agreed, so why dont we just do away with the women's section if no one's even going to post there?

Wait, now it is the women's section, enjoy.

Good carb choices: brown rice, sweet potatoes, oats, green veggies

Good protein sources: fish, chicken, lean red meat

Good healthy fats: flax, olive, sunflower, peanut oils., whipping cream, and those fats found in lean red meat.

IF you are wanting to gain lean body mass, IMO, you should follow a 50/30/20 ratio...protein, carb, fat. You need to keep your protein high, as protein synthesis is what builds lean body mass

i'd add to what redsquirrel said:

i love beans - garbanzo, kidney, lentils.... yum. good source of fibre and some carbs and protein in there too. ;)

                      yum for bean salad.

                      lol - whipping cream? yum!

i'm about to bulk... so i'm curious about the ratios. why 50p-30c-20f?

how is it better/worse than 40-30-30?

                          :D

However I still think Yellow has a wealth of knowledge to share and appreciate the fact that he is not very patient...

:D I still think your board is amazing!!!!

If you are about to bulk, your main objective is to get as much protein in your diet as possible, since PROTEIN SYNTHESIS is what builds muscle. Therefore, the 50/30/20 can work. When cutting, the goal is to use stored fat for energy..the ratio changes to 50/20/30- which is where you all may have heard 30%.

Here is an example of what I eat on a bulking diet..I am 5'4", 135

                            Total Cals: 2800

                            M1- Eggs
                            gr. beef
                            oats

M2- Shake w/ whipping cream and strawberries

                            M3- Chicken
                            sweet potato
                            green veggies
                            flax
                            M4- same as meal 2

                            post workout shake

                            M5- lean red meat
                            brown rice
                            green veggies
                            flax
                            M6- egg white omelet

Last time I did this diet, I gaines about 14 lbs. I don't have the exact calculations, but as you can see, fats are not that high..they may be in the high 20's, fats are around 70gms...carbs are around 100gms, (minus the post w/o shake) but carbs are relatively low also. Obviously protein is high...almost which makes or breaks the success of this diet.

Remember, everyone follows a different philosophy..I do what works for me.
