I think it's really smart to wait an do the show in July. I truly think you'll be able to gain a little more and be great come show time. I know you probably want to get your feet wet, so like I said before, you could find a show about 3-4 weeks prior just so you get a feel for the stage and the show and all of that.

I know you may feel like a monster because this is probably the biggest you've ever been. Don't worry about it though. You have to get big to get big!! LOL. More muscle can't really hurt you, you know?? You have to remember you will diet all of the fat away. Since you are all natural, it is difficult for you to gain and maintain that muscle, so that's why encourage maybe another gaining cycle. I would say try to cut for about the next 4 weeks, and then get back on another gain.

For now, I would say cut out the simple sugars for the most part....especially the dairy. Dairy bloats you and converts to simple sugars in the body. I bet if you just dropped the dairy, you'd feel better. Switch out the dairy for more complex carbs. More oatmeal and rice and yams...

Are you eating a mass shake still post workout? IF you are, drop that. Give me an idea of what you are eating now...;)

Alright a general idea of what i'm eating now...

breakfast - 1/2 cup oats, splenda and sugartwin (and SOMETIMES applesauce just because 1. i like the taste and 2. it fills me up more)

next meal - protein bar (average of 250 cals depending on which one i eat)

lunch - sandwich with 1 slice super healthy bread (we're talking 15 total carbs, 8 grams fiber, tons of flax seed etc). and a 1.5 serving turkey (i know lots of sodium... but like i said im not on my show diet yet)

next meal - usually this is post workout, so a protein shake (just protein and water, every now and then a scoop of pb), sometimes oatmeal too if im hungry

dinner - chicken breast and either green veggies or a spinach salad w/ 5cal dressing, sometimes 1/2 sweet potato

if i dont go to bed after my dinner meal, i'll have a scoop of protein and water

that was very general, it changes a lot due to crazy schedule, but those are the types of foods im eating right now. Occasionally for a "treat" i'll have a 6" subway turkey sub no cheese or dressing (its sad that I call subway a treat hehe)

I feel like EVERYTHING is big (but this is probably because like you said Red this is the biggest I've ever been)

Honestly- if you want to look like that naturally, you'll have to eat your face off!

Secondly- my main piece of advice right now is:

              WAY MORE PROTEIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol thanks you guys :) Red - how many gms protein do you think I should have in a day? 1 per lb bodyweight? And also, on that topic, when I work my long shifts that start at 5:15 am i never bring meals so I have shakes and bars. Is 2 scoops too much for one sitting?

Hey hotwtrbby - you look great and I know what you mean about feeling big. I have been trying to add size for the past few months and it takes time and lots of eating. I just posted new pics in the Members pics section - I am 15lbs heavier than my last competition. I am preparing for my 3rd figure show which is the Canadian Nationals - big step.

As Red said, you definitely need more protein and I would say just keep getting the shakes in, especially at your first meal. If you can eat eggwhites they are quick and easy too. I just started dieting (12 weeks until the show) and the key is planning. I spend about 2 hours every Sunday grilling chicken, weighing and measuring everything.

                      Keep up the great work!

You need to be eating AT LEAST 1.5gms per lb of bodyweight. I recommend this for 2 reasons:

                        1) you train naturally therefore it is even harder for you to gain lean muscle.

                        2) you are wanting to put on muscle.

I know this may sound like a lot of protein, but drink your gallon of water a day to keep the kidneys healthy. Honestly, if you're serious about it, you really need to eat your face off with whole foods.

As for the morning shake, you need more protein, and whole food. Eggbeaters are decent in the microwave.

2 scoops is NOT too much. However, you really need to start focusing more on whole foods. Cook your food and pack it for each and every day. The nutrients your body needs is in those shakes, but those shakes are also digested much faster than whole food....making it more difficult for your body to actually use those nutrients.

Here is what you should be eating right now if you are wanting to gain:

                        M1-
                        4oz lean ground beef.
                        1/2c Eggbeaters
                        1/2c oatmeal

                        M2- 2 scoops protein w/ 1tsp heavy cream

                        M3-
                        7oz chicken, turkey or fish
1/2 brown rice or 6oz sweet pot
                        1c. green veggies

                        M4- same as 2

M5- same as 3, but no carb source

                        M6- 7 egg white omelet.

Thanks red - I'll see what my cook can do for me. So far, she's been great with chicken and yams and eggs (hard boiled, but better than nothing). I'm gonna have to work on the ground beef and veggies.
