I am trying to lose bodyfat. I bought organic frozen turkey burgers. The ingredients lists organic turkey and that's it. I figured that was pretty good but, 1 burger is 170 calories, 8 grams of fat, 0 carbs, and 24g of protein. Is this too much fat? How often should I eat this or not?

I agree with bench, you should be able to find something better. I also use ground turkey for burgers and other recipes (see the recipe forum). I found some frozen turkey burgers that have about 3.0gm of fat per 4oz burger at Costco. Those are quick and easy to make-cook from frozen and done in less than 10minutes. I also remove some of the fat during cooking by either grilling or sucking the fat out when I do it on the stove. I'd say keep looking for alternatives and the best option may not be organic.Last edited by BBAddict; 05-03-05, 02:15 PM.

that sucks, my costco sells them in 4 packs, each packs holding 1lb so its a total of 4 pounds for like 10 bucks or something like that.Originally posted by BBAddictDamn it, they don't have that at my costco! That's exactly what I've been looking for and can't find anywhere around me.

BBA, ask someone at your Costco where it is. At mine it's not in the freezer section by the chicken, it's over by the fresh meats and cheeses.

The frozen turkey at my Costco is 93% lean--they have them in four packs but it's not the really lean stuff. :mad:Originally posted by PuddlesMine has that too.

You're right. I looked at my package and it said something like 99% turkey whatever that means. Is there 1% frog?
I still think 93% is lean enough. Some ground turkey is much higher in fat cal's/serving, especially pre-formed turkey burgers.

 I never noticed it was only 99% turkey! That worries me more than the 7% fat. I'm gonna weight the fat that comes off when I cook it in a frying pan to see how much of the fat I get rid of during cooking.Originally posted by PuddlesIs there 1% frog?
