I know, I'm just being fair...I've read articles about bbs their street drug use, which baffles my mind. And as I learn more about these pro wrestlers, it's amazing how many also used rec drugs. Certainly a deadly cocktail, gear and drugs, but I hope you (and everyone else reading this) don't think I mean, "sure, take whatever you want, just don't use heroin or crack with it"

you gotta respect these compounds...yes, they are part of the "eat, rest, train, take gear" equation to being a big, freaky pro that everyone seems to throw around, but I hope no one ever forgets that one of those tidbits of advice is not like the others.

Don't forget alot of bodybuilders have abused painkillers too. I know a couple bro's that got caught up in that oxycontin shit. Even acetaminophen is toxic to your liver if you take enough.

My friend has trouble sleeping. He started abusing tylenol pm. He damaged his liver. Alot of stuff out there is harmful if abused.

Excellent post Bouncer. I couldn't agree with you more. This has always perplexed me. The dicotomy of building a stronger HEALTHIER body and using drugs to try to enhance it does not make logical sense to me. Notice how I emphasized Healthier. Didn't these people understand that their health was being compromised on the inside to look better on the outside. Your life is a crazy price to pay for being so caught up in an addiction of self worth. That's what it basically boils down to when it gets to that point. Self acceptance. It has to be to go that far. This is a very disturbing post.

You have to consider too that by the time these guys are 30, they've put 70 years worth of food through their system and they've put their bodies through 2 lifetimes of physical stress and strain. Couple that with recreational drugs and steroids and their bodies just stop working. Our bodies can only take so much and after a certain point, it's not healty and you're literally killing yourself.

That is a good point that I hadnt really thought off. That would also have a direct effect on the kidneys and such.

Do you beleive that these casualties are a result of steroid ABUSE? or just use period?

                        i'd say abuse

yet you gotta realize like most things abuse has different definitions

i'd say abuse here, is long term over-use

either way, excellent post and great reminder of the big downside, which should always be considered

                          Good post B!

I feel as though the human body is genetically designed to only handle so much in one life time. Like Babyblues said before, the stress and strain on the body along with the gear can expand the human body but not the human life time. Your bodies organs are genetically designed to handle what your genetic outcome should be. When you start adding on muscle your heart has to work harder to pump blood to that muscle. The weight from that muscle causes the lungs to work harder. The liver and kidneys work nonstop due to supplementation and whatever else you use. You are expanding bodies exterior components but the interior components stay the same. Your internal organs are literally doing the work for 2-3 bodies.

Alot of bodybuilders seem to overdo the red meat diet, sounds like a small thing but when you hear the interviews with Mike Matarazzo he openly says he was eating pounds after pounds of beef a day, that tied with the adverse cholesterol profile caused by aas is a real worry to anyone

I think one more thing you can add to this. So many people take steroids just to get big and never do cardio to keep their heart in shape with the size of their body. I think it is very important that when using roids that cardio is a must to keep your heart healthy!! You are asking for problems if you don't!!
