YJ - I respect that you're extensive research and knowledge in the form of "supplements" etc is quite mind blowing but you just stated that you often skip ver the [details] due to a lack of time and so forth. Wouldn't this be the same equivalent as some of the [experts] (or lack thereof as you suggest) who post advice in the anabolic section yet have done plenty of their own research about the negative feedback loop/pituitary gland issues and so on in regards to the need for PCT? Often times those parts of their "advice" are left out since they don't have the "time" to make laborious posts for EVERY question that is asked anymore than you might have the time (and this can go for ANY advice given - whether it's in the anabolic, nutrition, or training sections could it not)?
I would say that a LOT of advice is given out on this board without ALL of the details posted but the Moderators and more knowledgeable members are typically VERY quick to "fix" these issues - that's what makes this board so great and most ALL of the information here is hard to beat. One may have to weed through a select few threads that aren't so hot but for those who actually care to learn what they're putting into their bodies, they have a wealth of knowledge/advice at their fingertips on this board and not many can say that about their "own" boards (and of course this "knowledge" includes your past advice/information as well even if not all of it is backed up by credentials or studies every time).

Good post and I agree. But my only retort is, if I leave out information thats quasi-relative for supplements, wouldnt you agree that thats a little safer than leaving out details for AAS use? The difference is, AAS have serious determental effects if the slightest problem arises, youre dealing with your endogenous hormones and endocrine system, which have severe adverse effects is accuracy and details are compromies.

I would and I do agree completely - of course this IS the internet and we both know it can and always will be a "dangerous" place to get information - that's why the homepage of the board prefaces everything with disclaimer after disclaimer as to it's use and leaves the degree of discretion up to the visitor/member to decide whether or not they "trust" the advice found here - I'm just of the belief that this boards "expert" advice is WAY better than what you might find if someone just started perusing LIMITED medical journal studies on AAS while doing their research - the advice here may not be of the quality some people might expect but it is WAY better than most and after all - most everyone who comes here with the intent of using is going to do it anyways so we might as well "try" to help them make a better decision than the ones they were hellbent on making without out help...Originally posted by YellowJacket View PostGood post and I agree. I agree with that as well... these boards are better for the "how" part of using AAS, but sometimes you need information (albeit studies, etc) for the "Why" part. Im big on the "why" part. If someone says "you need to use this EOD for 3 weeks" most people say "ok, cool, I can do that", and have no idea why theyre doing that.Originally posted by fog_hat1981 View PostI would and I do agree completely - of course this IS the internet and we both know it can and always will be a "dangerous" place to get information - that's why the homepage of the board prefaces everything with disclaimer after disclaimer as to it's use and leaves the degree of discretion up to the visitor/member to decide whether or not they "trust" the advice found here - I'm just of the belief that this boards "expert" advice is WAY better than what you might find if someone just started perusing LIMITED medical journal studies on AAS while doing their research - the advice here may not be of the quality some people might expect but it is WAY better than most and after all - most everyone who comes here with the intent of using is going to do it anyways so we might as well "try" to help them make a better decision than the ones they were hellbent on making without out help...
I used only really post in the AAS sections of various boards, massmonsterz, FG, etc. I actually was banned from Bolix's AAS forum because I was too young way back when. Now, I dont really feel comfortable giving advice on AAS, even though I know a great deal about endocrinology and AAS use. Ill let my responsibilities lie in supplements and nutrition.

well lets not act like we just make these things up either. a great deal of the knowledge we do have is from studies. we take many studies and apply it to bodybuilding because lets be honest, there just isn't many studies done on bodybuilding and steroids.Originally posted by YellowJacket View PostI agree with that as well... these boards are better for the "how" part of using AAS, but sometimes you need information (albeit studies, etc) for the "Why" part. i also think you are making a mistake by not posting in certain threads in which you have some knowledge to add in the steroid forum. to me, that is a waste.

That seems kind of lousy bro - if you know a great deal about endocrinology and AAS use then let's hear it - we can ALL learn something from one another - no one is going to hold you "responsible" for your "opinions" and/or the facts that you post - there are a TON of people who visit here that could benefit far more from your advice/knowledge than could be harmed by it - a LACK of knowledge is what hurts people - as far as feeling comfortable I think you should know by now that at least a few people here like you on some level or you wouldn't be here anymore :P...Originally posted by YellowJacket View PostI agree with that as well... these boards are better for the "how" part of using AAS, but sometimes you need information (albeit studies, etc) for the "Why" part. No but theres myriad on steroids, endocrinology, and the effects of various exogenous hormones. If you piece these things together, put 2 and 2 together per say, you can make a very educated assumption about what these substances will do to a healthy individual. I believe empirical data and feedback prove this theory to be correct. But lets be honest again, how many "bros" on these boards really do this?Originally posted by THE BOUNCER View Postwell lets not act like we just make these things up either. a great deal of the knowledge we do have is from studies. we take many studies and apply it to bodybuilding because lets be honest, there just isn't many studies done on bodybuilding and steroids.
I think the majority of the knowledge on these boards comes from hand-me-down. If someone who is well respected and very intelligent says a few things, people read it, and pick up on it. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. But deciphering who knows what theyre talking about versus someone who sounds like they know what there talking about gets tricky.

You can see it like that, but when I did post in the steroid forums I received non-stop PMs wanting sources, wanting to know if I had extra gear, wanting to pay me for sources, etc. And to be very honest with you, I was getting asked questions I wasnt too comfortable on answering because I didnt feel my depth of knowledge in that area was sufficient to not do harm to this person.

i hear ya on both points. that is life though, you have to decipher who is knowledgeable and has experience and how is a dip shit.Originally posted by YellowJacket View PostNo but theres myriad on steroids, endocrinology, and the effects of various exogenous hormones. as far as people asking for sources or wanting steroids etc.., i get asked this all the time myself. i simply dont respond or i ban the offender. i get this in the gym or anywhere, people see me and think i must have all the secrets when it comes to bodybuilding. just because people bother me and ask question dosent mean i am going to stop doing what i do.

While I agree, I only have so much time to give real, genuine advice. I wish I still had the time I used to a year or so ago. I post a lot at work (ie. right now) but just dont have much time to dig through studies and research to back-up what I say and honestly, I dont like posting without references unless its semi-common knowledge.
